1. Introduction

Kal Access Control is a Chrome extension that works with Le Harbor to manage student access to configured reward websites. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting the data used to provide this access-control functionality.

2. What Data We Access

In order to function properly, our extension accesses the following minimal information:

• Authentication Cookies: We check for the presence and validity of the kl_extension_token cookie for the leharbor.com domain to verify if you are logged in. We do not read other cookies.
• Task Status Data: When communicating with the Le Harbor server, the extension checks your task completion status to determine if access to certain blocked sites should be granted.
• Bedtime Status Data: The extension may check bedtime and wake-time settings from Le Harbor to determine whether reward-site access should be locked during bedtime hours.
• Restricted Site Policy: The extension syncs the current list of restricted reward domains from Le Harbor so parents, teachers, or administrators can update access rules without reinstalling the extension. This policy may be stored locally in the browser using Chrome extension storage.
• Page URL Matching: The extension checks page URLs only to determine whether the current page matches a restricted reward site and whether access should be allowed.
• Return URL: When a restricted page is blocked, the extension may send the original page URL to Le Harbor as an original_url parameter so the student can return to that page after completing assigned work.

3. Data usage and Sharing

We do not sell your data. The data we access is used strictly and solely to provide the core functionality of the extension (authorizing access based on task completion). We do not share the data with any third-party advertisers or external services.

Browsing information used by the extension is limited to reward-access enforcement, bedtime locking, and returning the student to the original reward page. We do not use browsing data for advertising, profiling, or unrelated analytics.

The extension does not collect page content, keystrokes, passwords, or full browsing history.
